The Itinerary
Day 1 - Tower Bridge
The journery starts at Tower Bridge. After a group pic, we start cycling south through the city of London and head towards the countryside. The journey has a number of rolling hills on the 65 mile ride to Newhaven. Once at Newhaven, we will board the Ferry and get some much needed rest.
Day 2 - Cergy
After tucking into breakfast, we start the biggest day of the trip. The first 40 miles is along a disused railway track cutting through some beautiful villages and passing some nice coffee shops. The second half of the journey will be through rural French countryside with a few decent climbs through breathtaking scenery. A long day of cycling where we cover just under 92 miles. A nice hotel and hot shower awaits, before heading out for a much deserved meal.
Day 3 - Paris
The final day is a shorter ride of 22 miles where we have a gentle ride from Cergy to the Eiffel Tower. It’s an exciting day as we cross the finishing line and complete the challenge. After some group pics at the Eiffel Tower, there will be a short amount of time to enjoy the centre of Paris. The group will make their way to Gard du Nord to head back to London St Pancreas by the Eurostar.
The Cause
The London to Paris 2019 ride will be raising money to run a mobile clinic in the West Bank in support of of Medical Aid For Palestinians, a UK registered charity. Each participant will have a minimum fundraising target of £1,000.

MAP have offices in the West Bank, Gaza, Jerusalem, Lebanon and London. With our extensive local knowledge and experience, we work closely with communities, hospitals, clinics and healthcare providers to coordinate care and medical aid even where there are severe restrictions on access.
MAP provides immediate medical aid to those in need at times of crisis, while also developing local capacity and skills to ensure the long-term development of the Palestinian healthcare system.
We are also committed to bearing witness to the impact of occupation, displacement and conflict on Palestinian health and wellbeing, and campaign for the realisation of Palestinian rights to health and dignity.

FAQ
Training
We would recommend a road bike or a hybrid bike. If the hybrid is closer to a mountain bike, then the front suspension should be lockable.
The MC Events team have a number of experience cyclists and enthusiasts and will help any participant to buy a bike. In general, we would recommend buying a second hand bike as it is the most cost efficient way to buy a good bike which is suitable for the journey.
The cycle ride from London to Paris is a challenging ride and we recommend that every person dedicates 10-12 weeks of training time, increasing the training as the weeks go on.
Once signed up, we will publish a recommended cycling training programme and we will keep each other motivated by using Strava, an online platform to track our rides as a team.
The more you train, the easier the ride will be and the more you will enjoy it. We have experienced cyclists amongst the group who can offer advice throughout the training period and during the day.
It is not a race and we leave as a team and we finish as a team.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is non-refundable
The package section above describes what is and is not included as part of the registration fee. MCE are a voluntary organisation so all the money from the registration fee will be used to cover the costs of the event
Fundraising Target
The fundraising target for each person is a minimum of £1,000
In general, Medical Aid for Palestinians donation policy is approximately 90% towards the cause and 10% towards admin costs. MAP strive hard to minimise the amount they take from donations and their admin fees are often less than this.
For the mobile health clinic project that we are fundraising for, 100% of the donation will go towards the operational running of the mobile health clinic.
